SMR was established as a private limited company in 1988.
Based in Croydon, Leeds and Warwick they quickly developed a strong
reputation for professional, high quality delivery and installation
services. As relationships with our key clients strengthened, additional
service lines were developed in partnership with them. As SMR
became more experienced, we started to deliver larger and more complex
solutions. Examples include working with IBM® to deliver the
NatWest Bank Retail Banking Platform project, to replace every branch
PC and server over an eighteen month period; working with Cap Gemini®
to audit the entire IT infrastructure of British Steel, followed
by a multi-site PC rollout programme; working with Siemens®
to install 1,000 ATMs into Barclays Bank and working with IBM to
re-cable and install new EPoS tills and servers into Boots the Chemist.
The Securitas Group purchased SMR in February 2000, and
we now represent the technical arm of the world's largest security
