SMR currently has some 35,000 ft2 of warehousing space
at its Warwick location. In addition we have access to a third-party
storage location that meets our own stringent security requirements
- this can be used for overflow storage, normally of legacy equipment
on long-term storage contract, although this is never invoked without
the client's consent.
Clearly, whilst your equipment is in our care, you will want to
be confident that we have adequate security measures and insurance
cover in place.
Security at our configuration centre is controlled by our parent
company, Securitas, to a level similar to that of their cash-handling
centres around the UK. We operate a swipe-card access system across
the site, maintaining an audit trail of who has been where, and
when. In addition, the entire site is remotely monitored from the
Securitas guarding control centre - a state of the art facility
- with any movement within a specified distance of the buildings
being picked up automatically, digitally recorded to hard drive
via infra-red enabled cameras, and triggering a manual intervention
by Securitas. All key areas of the site, both internally and externally,
are constantly monitored by high-definition colour CCTV.
We take responsibility for your equipment from signed acceptance
at goods-in through to sign-off on the day of installation and equipment
is normally insured for its full replacement value throughout. We
will ask you to declare the value of each equipment type as part
of our Project Definition Workshop, and our systems will then automatically
report the insurable value of equipment being held for your project
to our insurers on a regular basis.
Our security has been vetted by several of the leading UK banks
and retailers in advance of us delivering complex solutions for
them requiring live access to data on their networks from our facility.
Not only have we taken stringent measures to protect the physical
security of your equipment, but we will also ensure the total ring
fencing of your solution. It is normal for us to deliver solutions
for several large clients simultaneously, and in many cases these
companies may be in competition. We fully understand the need, and
have measures in place, to ensure the integrity of your intellectual
capital. Solution development never takes place in the commissioning
halls, clients are never allowed unaccompanied access to the facility,
and we offer private development areas on site, where your technical
staff can work with us on solution development and piloting.
The entire process of moving equipment from the warehouse, through
the configuration facility, back to despatch, through our trunking
network, to the Engineers and out to the end-user site, is managed
by the Project Manager, using our SLIMS® software. We can report
regularly, electronically, what equipment we are holding, and what
equipment has been despatched and installed, by site, serial number
and end-user name.
